Unity Classes and Workshops
Check our calendar for upcoming workshops and classes. Our classes are always spiritually educational. The workshops are enlightening and the study groups allow us to exchange and be involved in the discussion. Our learning experiences are based on knowledgeable works, both new and in the Unity tradition. New classes are always on the horizon.
Unity of Salt Lake will be offering credit classes for becoming a licensed Unity Teacher beginning in September 2009. Perfect attendance is required for this program. This is a wonderful new opportunity being offered locally for the first time this year.
Summer Meditation in the Canyon
A longstanding Unity of Salt Lake summer tradition is our mid-week meditation in MillCreek Canyon. Every Wednesday at 6:30pm our group assembles up the canyon to share a pot luck dinner around the fire. After the always fantastic (and always different) meal together someone leads the group in a meditation. What better way to escape the hustle and bustle in the middle of the work week than to take the short drive up the canyon to the cool and peace of the mountains? Join us as soon as the weather breaks in the spring until Labor Day (or until weather forces us to stop for the winter).
Community Service
The second Sunday of each month draws us to Pioneer Park to share our pot luck with those less fortunate. Bring a dish to share with the homeless of our city. There are always plenty of folks who appreciate the meal. This is one of those rare opportunities to have your heart opened to giving. In the winter gloves and coats and blankets can add warmth to someone who may truly need it. There can never be too many people to come and help out so anyone is welcome to pitch in - and there is never too much food to share so bring whatever you like, none will be wasted.
